# Where is Fluxer restricted? Mississippi, the UK and Brazil

Fluxer is unavailable in Mississippi, and age-restricted content is locked in the UK and Brazil. Here's every regional restriction and the law behind it.

fluxer.com is unavailable in Mississippi, and age-restricted content is locked in the United Kingdom and Brazil. We only restrict access where we believe a current legal requirement applies to Fluxer. This page lists every restriction we apply and the law behind each one, and we update it whenever we add, remove or change a restriction.

[Section 3.2 of our privacy policy](https://canary.fluxer.com/privacy.md) lists the age checks we never use, such as ID uploads and biometric scans, and explains how we estimate your region from your IP address. Where a law demands one of those checks, we restrict access in that region.

## Can I use Fluxer in Mississippi?

No, fluxer.com is unavailable while your connection appears to come from Mississippi, and you can't register, sign in or use the service. If you already have a Fluxer account, it keeps all its data, and you can use it from any region where fluxer.com is available.

HB 1126 (Walker Montgomery Protecting Children Online Act) requires age verification for every user and parental consent for anyone under the age of 18. In our reading, the law applies to Fluxer because it's a service with communities and channels.

The Fifth Circuit let the law take effect in July 2025, and in August 2025 the Supreme Court declined to block it again. It can be enforced during the constitutional challenge.

## Is age-restricted content available in the United Kingdom?

Age-restricted communities, channels and media are locked in the United Kingdom, and you can still register, sign in and use the rest of Fluxer. We no longer offer the credit card check that used to unlock them, but accounts that passed it before keep their access. [Section 2.1 of our privacy policy](https://canary.fluxer.com/privacy.md) says we removed the cards that were saved only for that check.

The Online Safety Act 2023 has been enforceable since July 25, 2025, and it applies to user-to-user services, including group chats. Part 3 requires age assurance only for specific kinds of harmful content, so we only restrict age-restricted content.

## Brazil

Fluxer [isn't blocked in Brazil](https://canary.fluxer.com/help/is-fluxer-blocked-in-brazil.md), but age-restricted communities, channels and media are unavailable there, and there's no option to verify your age to unlock them.

The Digital ECA (Lei 15.211/2025) has been enforceable since March 17, 2026, and it requires age checks that can be audited and doesn't let people prove their age simply by stating it. We don't have a check that meets those rules in Brazil, because we never check anyone's age using government IDs, biometric data or CPF numbers.

## Laws we assessed as not applying

Fluxer is a community chat app without an algorithmic feed, and friend lists are private. It isn't an adult content website and doesn't sell adult content.

For these reasons, several US age verification laws don't apply to Fluxer, and we don't restrict access under the laws in Florida (HB 3), Virginia (SB 854), South Dakota (HB 1053), Wyoming (HB 43), Ohio (ORC 1349.10, via HB 96) or Arizona (HB 2112).

Louisiana's law (Act 456) covers only services with at least five million accounts worldwide. fluxer.com had [more than 500,000 accounts](https://canary.fluxer.com/help/how-many-people-use-fluxer.md) in October 2026, far below that, and a federal court has also blocked the law for the companies that sued.

## Laws that courts have blocked or that aren't law yet

Courts have blocked the laws in Arkansas (SB 396 / Act 689), Utah (SB 194 / HB 464) and Ohio (HB 33), and we'll reassess if any take effect. An appeals court ruled for Ohio in June 2026, but the law stays blocked while the challengers seek Supreme Court review.

The federal KIDS Act passed the House of Representatives in June 2026 but isn't law, and [our article on the KIDS Act](https://canary.fluxer.com/help/kids-act.md) explains what it would change.

## Laws we're still assessing

In October 2026, an appeals court overturned the order that blocked Georgia's law (SB 351). Courts have blocked parts of Texas's law (HB 18), including its monitoring and filtering duties, and the rest of that law is in force. Tennessee's law (HB 1891) is in force, and in August 2026 a federal appeals court sent the challenge to it back to the trial court.

We're checking whether the Georgia, Tennessee and Texas laws cover services like Fluxer, and we'll update this page when we've decided about each one.

## Request human review

If you think a restriction was applied in error, email [privacy@fluxer.com](mailto:privacy@fluxer.com) with your username and a short description. [Section 3.2 of our privacy policy](https://canary.fluxer.com/privacy.md) says how the review works.
